At Loving Hearts Preschool and Nursery, we are committed to providing divergent learning and services for families to help children with developmental disabilities. As a Registered Behavior Technician, I specialize in working with children with autism. We believe early intervention is key to long-term success and ensure families have access to necessary support, including Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.
We create structured routines for our students, using tools like timers, schedules and positive reinforcement to support progress. We work closely with other organizations to use effective strategies, including Picture Exchange Communication (PEC), talking devices, and sign language to encourage functional communication. Our program uses PEC throughout the facility to help children visualize routines. For example, we use visual reminders in restrooms, classrooms, and during snack time to aid transitions and reduce anxiety. This structure helps children who struggle with verbal communication. We approach challenging behaviors with empathy and understanding. Giving children a safe place to grow
