Little Learners
At Loving Hearts Preschool and Nursery we believe that every child is unique and capable of reaching their full potential. We provide a nurturing environment that fosters creativity, curiosity and lifelong learning. We incorporate cognitive skills, social + emotional development, and literacy skills into our daily schedule.
Cognitive Skills
Our students follow multi-step instructions that are not explicitly outlined liked cooking simple recipes together, building structures with blocks, or engaging in treasure hunts that require listening and following directions. A few more are art projects, science experiments, or group games. These activities help develop functioning skills, including attention, memory, and the ability to follow complex instructions.
Social and emotional development
Strategies we use to promote our students social and emotional development are modeling positive reinforcement, structured play activities, emotional recognition , story telling, role play, and mindfulness practices. These approaches help lay the foundation for healthy relationship, effective communication and emotional resilience
Daily Living
Loving Hearts Preschool and Nursery emphasizes the development of daily living skills such as using the restroom and eating with utensils, getting dressed, tying shoes etc. These functional skills are crucial for fostering independence and self confidence in our students.
Language Development
We focus on language development by practicing verbal communication, simple ASL, visuals, listening and comprehension stories . Students typically exhibit significant growth in both receptive (listening and understanding) and expressive (speaking) language skills.
Literacy
We implement engaging activities to support early literacy development. Focusing on skills such a as reading from left to right, recognizing uppercase and lower case letters, sing our alphabet and practicing name writing. We practice these skills through group activities, group games, dramatic play, independent learning time and outdoors.
